New area already!!!
#onetransferinSunnyside
Yep I got transferred. Welcome to Memorial Park 2. I was told this is Elder Stober's Favorite area. Well here we go.
Monday
The day before transfer
news! Elder Lund and I knew that there had to be a change going on so we
decided to make P-Day Super FUN!!! First things first, we went to
Lorenzo's to help him move some furniture so that he could get his carpet
cleaned. When we went to the store we didn’t get much because of
transfers. For our P-Day activity we went to Minute Maid Park for a
Houston Astros Tour! It was super fun. We got to go to so many places in
the stadium. One of the places we went to was down to the field. Then
of course we ended up at the church building. While we were talking to
family, our friend Belinda texted us saying she doesn’t want to meet
with us anymore which was super sad because she was one of our best
progressing friends. We tried to find out why and to talk about it but
she really didn’t want to. Super sad. After all that we went back to
Lorenzo's to move the furniture back and have some dinner. Then we had
our apartment inspection. The inspector can talk for hours so he was
there until late into our night. That was crazy.
Tuesday
We
just started with the last zone call of the transfer. We just did
contacts most of the day and tried to visit a few people. Lorenzo got us
haircuts which was super nice of him. So now I can start this next
transfer with a haircut. For dinner we went to our friend Kevin's. I love
going over there. On our way back to the apartment the AP’s dropped a
message in the chat saying they were going to have a zoom meeting. My 4
transfers of being here I have never seen transfer news dropped over a
zoom meeting. But that is the way they did it. Then of course they
dropped our standard Email after it. The news of course as you read it
in the title of this Email! I GOT TRANSFERRED!!! I only had one transfer
in Sunnyside which is super sad but I needed to go to a car area. Elder
Lund also got transferred so that makes it the second time in 2
transfers that I have been whitewashed! It is now the zone leader's area.
It was some crazy news to receive.
Now I get to be with Elder West in MP2
Wednesday
The
last day I had in Sunnyside! We started packing our stuff and then
saying goodbye to our friends and letting them know that 2 new
missionaries would be coming in and contacting them. Nothing eventful
happened. It was just visiting some friends and packing.
Thursday
TRANSFERS!!!!!!!
Wow we had to fit all of mine and Elder Lund's stuff into the car while
also keeping 2 of the seats up in the back of the car so we could fit
Elder Lund, Belnap, Child, and I all into the car. Elder Belnap and
Child had to go because Elder Belnap is the new District Leader for the
MacG District. It was very tightly packed in the car but we made it
work. It was raining pretty hard most of the day so everyone just
chilled inside for transfers I chilled with my friend Elder Fritzsching.
He graduated with me so it was super cool to see him here in Houston
too. Eventually the rain stopped when we didn’t need to be moving
anything between cars so there is some amazing timing. We got to the
area and quickly moved all my stuff into the apartment then went back
out to work. It started raining really hard again but we survived and
made it home.
Friday
Well
the days are absolutely filled here. There are so many apartment
complexes it is almost overwhelming after being trained in Jones Creek.
We also got a bunch of the Sisters Friends so we have even more people
to contact. It was a really good day though. There shouldn’t be any
problems with being bored here.
Saturday
OK
it wasn’t as good as Friday but still an amazing day. It started off
with a Stake Missionary Breakfast. This is something that the Richmond
Stake never did so it was really cool to have it. It kinda feels like ZC
because of course its the whole zone there but it is just breakfast
with a few words from the Stake President. It was also a celebration for
the Roberts' 50th Wedding anniversary. They are some of the senior
missionaries assigned to this zone. Then we had a mission zoom to kick
off the transfer which was also something they haven’t done before so
that was also strange. Now for the reason it wasn’t as good as Friday,
most of our plans got canceled in the early evening so we decided to do
our weekly planning that we weren’t able to get to until then. That made
it a bit better but we still went out and did our best.
Sunday
Dude
this was actually an absolutely AMAZING Sunday! We had 13 people, ya
count it 13 people come to church today along with 5 recent converts!!!
That is CRAZY! They were all slowly coming in as church was going on but
they made it. Church is also VERY different here in the MP2 ward. To my
knowledge they share Sunday School with the MP1 ward which means MP1
has sacrament meeting then shared Sunday school for both wards then MP2
has sacrament meeting after Sunday school. It was very strange. So after sacrament meeting everyone went home. Anyway it was a great day. There
wasn’t many successful contacts or finding in the evening but church was
a success and that is what matters.
Yep
MP2 is a completely different area from Jones Creek and SunnySide. It
should be really good in this area. The days are starting to warm up
even more so lets pray that we can continue to have cooler weather. For
those wondering, yes my arm is feeling better. I still have to wear the
sling but it isn’t that bad. I hope you are all having a great time
wherever you are and don’t forget to remember your Savior this week as we
lead up to Easter! Study Come Follow Me. It is all Easter focused this
week!
See you next week as we start to prepare for General Conference!
